Capricornia Blokart Bash 2017
The Bash has come and gone and a good time was had by all. And if the wind had blown even a little bit, a great time would have been had by all. Ah well there’s always next year, 8th to 11th June 2018. Mark it in your calendars now.
And thanks to Nev for this video. He’s also updating our Facebook page. Check it out.

Thanks to all our club members who turned up to Emu Park on Sunday to help with our display of Blokarts on the beach.
Although there was no wind in the morning and we all thought the day was going to be a complete fizzer, the wind shifted around and increased in the afternoon. Everyone was kept busy taking interested members of the public for a ride.
Australia’s premier winter get-away for Blokarters.
The third Capricornia Blokart Bash, CBB, is to be held over the Queen’s Birthday Weekend at the beginning of June on Mulambin Beach, Yeppoon. Saturday 10th June through until Monday 12th June. (Yes, we know HRH’s birthday in Queensland has inexplicably been moved to October. Queenslanders get over it, take a sickie.)
For all you southerners, the weather in Yeppoon in June is delightful, warm days and cool evenings. The perfect place to escape the colder weather down south. And have fun in your Blokart.
A weekend of fun blokarting and socializing on the beautiful Capricorn Coast.
- Team relay events.
- Racing with shadows. (2 people per kart)
- Racing with deuce bars. (Connecting karts together)
- Social racing.
- BBQs and social gatherings.
A few noble souls, Graham, Nev and Paul, attended the Rockhampton Sports Expo yesterday.
It was the first official outing for our new marquee and as you can see it got a huge reception. Graham, who took the photo, struggled to get close enough to the stall to take a decent picture.
Although I’m not quite sure if it was the marquee that attracted the crowd or if it was the glimpse of their “Rock God” Paul in the background. Who knows!
Our new marquee doesn’t look too shabby.
Not sure how many people turned up but there was a steady stream of visitors all day. I think we can pat ourselves on the back, not too shabby for our first attempt at getting the message out to the general public. Thanks to everyone that distributed posters and helped out on the day.
Blokart New Zealand have just released a new pro, stainless steel, model which they are calling version 3.

Here are a few images from”The Bash”.
If anyone has others that are better email them to me and I’ll post them here for you.
For those of you who were on the beach last weekend you must have noticed Nev running around and taking a HUGE amount of video with his Go-Pro camera. And good on him, he’s been slaving over a hot computer this week to produce a couple of amazing videos.
And here’s the trip up to Corio Bay in wet and windy conditions.
